So, will we ever see your big post about what you see as the social contract between bloggers and their hosts? You're my Great Hope of Explaining It All, because I really really don't get it!
I have to laugh that the people who created the panic around the end of Basic accounts have now screwed the existing Basic accounts out of their ad-free status. I have mostly contempt for the concept and execution of the "LJ Strike", led by a self-selected crusader disinterested in concensus-building, with a list of "user demands" I in no way endorsed and which I believe were harmful to the long-term viability of the platform I depend on for all my blogging. I had my own big post about it, but never published it because I felt I still needed some deeper understanding of the Other Side in this argument, which I think you represent... So if you wonder if your thoughts on the issue will have an audience, I'm eager ;)
SUP had managed to mostly stay below the piss-people-off threshold for long enough that I pushed that to a back burner to get to "someday". Right now I'm caught up in, among other things, Pennsic prep, but I'll try to find time to write it up before Pennsic if I can.
