"What we want is women to be able to make their own choices ... You see, that's the lie that happens under Obamacare. The president of the United States effectively becomes a health care dictator. Women don't need anyone to tell them what to do on health care. We want women to have their own choices, their own money. That way they can make their own choices for their future on their own bodies." -- U.S. Representative Michelle Bachmann (R-Minnesota), on Meet the Press, 2012-04-15, sounding remarkably pro-choice in her argument. So glad to hear that Rep. Bachmann finally understands that women should get to make their own choices about their bodies and their health.

"Sounding pro-choice" because that's using some of the most positive-language double-talk possible. You missed the most important line: "their own money".

In other words, get government-regulated insurance out of the job of being part of women's health at all, which means making even the simplest of reproductive decisions (like birth control pills) too expensive to do. She's full-on reactionary and has made no statement at all chastising the laws and bills that push lack of contraception choices onto women.

I didn't so much miss it as deliberately ignore it in the interest of snark, because her "justification" for this particular reactionary position mirrors pro-choice arguments (and either she's too dim to make the connection herself, or -- more likely -- is counting on her listeners to be so dim).
