[Hey, that was required reading in my school ...]

Couldn't sleep, couldn't sleep, finally slept, slept through the time I'd planned to go somewhere. Was still tired, so went to bed at usual time ... couldn't sleep, couldn't sleep, finally crashed after noon; woke up an hour and a half later to move the car, still sleepy, timing doesn't look good ...

"On today's installment of Sleep Challenge, our contestant is going to try to be alert enough to drive to rehearsal. What has our contestant won so far, Bob?"

[fanfare] "A blinding headache, Jim!"

Car is moved. Closing my eyes and hoping.

[Update: Crashed about an hour later, woke a few times briefly to notice how uncomfortable I was and fall right back asleep, then woke for real at 3AM very thirsty and being stared at by one very hungry cat (since I'd slept through her dinnertime).]
