"And I'm going to wear whatever I want, whenever I want to, because gender is in fact performative, and I'm nonbinary." -- Alexander (Sascz) Herrmann (lothie), 2020-08-07
[Every so often some fool demands that nonbinary people look a certain way, usually genderless or androgynous, and folks have to remind them that nonbinary people don't owe anyone any particular presentation to be nonbinary.]

Uh, I'm a woman who doesn't wear dresses or makeup. I wonder if those people have a problem with me too, or if they save it for people they can get away with picking on more easily. :-(

I see men get this, yeah. It doesn't happen much to me, maybe because I'm not beautiful or young. My trans friends get way worse than anything I've experienced or seen. I didn't phrase it well, but I was calling the jerks who harass trans folks on their double standard of picking on a trans woman for not presenting as "feminine enough" while I mostly get a pass.
I do have the privilege of living in a blue city in the US north. That certainly protects me and my local friends from a lot of crap the people have to endure elsewhere.

Thanks for clarifying, and no worries -- limited-bandwidth communication is hard sometimes.
