Which is the point, n'est-ce pas? A society that has its basic needs met and a sense of security is more likely to be a politically-engaged society, and more likely to enact the kind of policies that favour the interests of the population at large. Why do you think the political right has put in a major worldwide effort to equate lack of security with elevated levels of entrepreneurship and social mobility, even though their claims are at best spurious, and at worst totally counterfactual?
