Like I asked someone last year at Balticon to read the sign about the art show hours, after the art show had closed. The sign they were standing in front of in order to open the door to talk to me. (I didn't have them memorized. I read the sign whenever someone asked me.)
Friendly. I bit them. I like to think that people at a science fiction convention can read. It's not a square dancing convention, after all. Even if all you are interested in is videos, you have to read the schedules to see when the right one is running. Posted outside the room, just like the art show hours.
