I didn't use that on my boss; it's something Ursa and I came up with five or six or seven years ago as a general "catch-all" excuse to convince someone's (anyone's?) recalcitrant boss to let them go to Pennsic. Me, I just told the boss I was going, and I went. Since we came up with this phrase several years ago (and, IIRC, posted an anecdote to a related thread on either Middlebridge or the Rialto), I'm not surprised other people are using it by now...although gratified, somewhat. :)
