Is anyone besides me really, really bothered by this sentence? "The moon has one-sixth the gravitational field of Earth, so moon-based aircraft could launch from there more cheaply."

I'm getting an image of two things: One is a witch flying around on a vacuum instead of the standard broomstick. The other is more geeky: A spaceship a la The Explorers, but built on top of a big vacuum cleaner instead of a salvaged carnival ride seat...
