I thought about that when I saw the first Passion spam, but I've got some friends without LJ accounts who post comments to my journal (though one fewer now -- [waves hello to realinterrobang]) and the occasional "who the Hell was that?" anonymous comment worth reading as well.
If it gets bad, I'll disable anonymous comments. I'm holding off for a little longer before deciding though.
