"Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held it's ground!" -- original source unknown; I swiped it from [livejournal.com profile] yesthattom, who quoted it in his journal 2004-01-02.

Just registering a grammatical Ouch! for the mispleaced apostrophe in "it's"

That is all :-)

It's an easy typo mistake to make. Brain farts, and we don't catch it in the edit. In the morning when only semi-vertical, I don't even notice. I only cringe when fully awake.

"Mispleaced" Typos happen.

*grin* Yes, they do. Thanks for pointing it out.

I was more complaining about a pervasive error of comprehension, though; I've seen at least one study which demonstrates that misuse of "it's" is the most frequent error in English. And I suppose I feel that large, slick, professionally written and edited sites (including both abcnews.com and cbsnews.com) ought to have gotten past this one by now.

1) A crank is a little thing that makes revolutions.

2) An avalanche is a bunch of flakes working together.

;-)

"It's" indeed. Feh!
