Okay, for everyone who has ever been tempted to modify the Volvo logo and change the lettering to say "Vulva" (why yes, I do know for a fact that the number of such people among my friends is greater than two), it looks like the folks at Dodge have really beaten you to the punch.

Take a look at this examination of the Dodge Ram logo, complete with snide comparison to the testosterone-laden advertising. :-)

Thanks to Fred for emailing me the URL.

Even though our shop was next to a Dodge body shop, I never caught that connection of images. I did get a giggle the time someone left a Ram pickup in neutral, failed to set the emergency brake, and I arrived at work next day to find it butting our wall.

I don't get what all the fuss is about...everyone knows how tough women have to be. :)

a) I'm not sure Dodge's target audience for those commercials knows that, and

b) I think they're being sold as not only tough, but "manly".

But y'know, I can imagine some pretty powerful commercials based on the "how tough women have to be" angle. And given the stereotypical young American male attitude toward his car, doesn't it make sense for the car to be somehow vaguely female? (Oh wait, since many seem to view their cars as extensions of there penes, I guess it's sublimated homoeroticism and the cars do have to be male. Never mind.)

Uh, I'm clearly not yet awake enough to be answering comments.
