Catastrophe. I had an attack of the clumsies. My Visor fell. The screen is broken.
Unfortunately, I had come to rely on this device. [ETA:] A gift, which had gone from "cool toy" to "useful" to "how could I have possibly managed without one of these?" in an alarmingly short time.

It looks like a DIY repair ... using a part I can't afford.

a loaner
Re: a loaner
I've replaced the display in a palm
Please tell me the exact model of yours and I will look up with the display for yours costs. It is also possibly that I can get you a refurb for less than the cost of a hurried repair performed locally. You might want to check price with me before committing to anything.

My next questions are
a) what can you afford (or what can't you afford)
and
b) do you actually use the expansion slot on your visor or if I find a bargain on an equivalent Palm unit lacking that slot, would you be interested?
Re: I've replaced the display in a palm
If you only need the digitizer the parts cost price will be significantly less. As most if not all palm devices will use the same desktop installation I can see no downside to your accepting offers for used units as loaners or gifts pending possible future acquisition of repair parts except that the particular OS revision may limit your ability to use certain software you were using on your old one.
I've been looking but so far I've not located the bookmarks for those companies I've purchased parts for in the past and I'm too disorganized from moving to locate the original invoices just yet.

By the way, I'm writing you an e-mail about something else. I think this notification goes to the same address, but just in case wanted to put an extra heads-up...

(I haven't forgotten that I need to get together with you to show you those contact prints and watch a movie. But it's looking like probably after Pennsic...)
