It's a Handspring Visor Platinum. The price I found online for a replacement display is significantly more than I can afford. *sigh*

OK I've determined that you are describing an 8mb model with a monochrome display, which is useful in as much as sometimes I can locate replacement units for less than the cost of a single part.

My next questions are
a) what can you afford (or what can't you afford)
and
b) do you actually use the expansion slot on your visor or if I find a bargain on an equivalent Palm unit lacking that slot, would you be interested?

Doh! I forgot to ask if the LCD itself is broken or just the glass digitizer in front of it. It is virtually impossible for the LCD to break without the digitizer breaking but I know for a fact the reverse can happen.

If you only need the digitizer the parts cost price will be significantly less. As most if not all palm devices will use the same desktop installation I can see no downside to your accepting offers for used units as loaners or gifts pending possible future acquisition of repair parts except that the particular OS revision may limit your ability to use certain software you were using on your old one.

I've been looking but so far I've not located the bookmarks for those companies I've purchased parts for in the past and I'm too disorganized from moving to locate the original invoices just yet.
