If you mean The Adventures of Perrine, translated from the French many decades ago, then yes.

Back when I was trying to name her, I had all sorts of ideas and was trying to find out which she would respond to. Then [livejournal.com profile] anniemal suggested "Perrine", told me about the book and why it seemed appropriate, and pointed out that the name was similar to a sound that Perrine makes and responds to. Sure enough, she responded to the name, and it became hers.
