You're lucky, my cat almost never lapsits. About the only time she'll lay on me is when I'm in bed, so I get to enjoy the warm fuzziness for only a brief period before I fall asleep.
She doesn't sit on my lap so much during the summer (once in a while, but not like this). I think she may be seeking my body heat as much as or more than my affection (which she can get by sitting nearby and using mind-control rays to force me to pet her).
