Didn't sleep: thus tired.

Rehearsal tonight: thus worried about alertness status from now until then.

Just got back from trying on bridesmaid dresses: thus feeling full of smiles, feeling pretty.

There's a longer entry in there waiting to be written, about the general phenomenon of how clothing choices and mood/headspace interact, but not today -- gonna see if I can get about a three hour nap. Wish me luck.

Yay organza! Pretty!

And I do regularly tell you how beautiful you are.

Glenn, you are the first person I can recall being enthusiastic about wearing a bridesmaid dress.

I can only conclude that the person whose bridesmaid you are has unusually good taste in clothing, and has managed to escape the cultural conditioning that says she must make her attendants dress in a way that not only cannot compete with her gown, but is actively unflattering.

Maybe we're onto the secret of bridesmaid dresses here.....hm....XY chromosomes......??

I worked hard to select really nice, flattering gowns and I gave the wearers some choice of dress and color..........I wasn't thrilled about how different the actual dye was from the swatches but they were lovely tea-length lace dresses which were re-dyable and thus, re-wearable. I'm not girly enough to have done that idiotic competitive thing. I didn't even want to be looked at on my wedding day. Introversion at its very best :)

Our footwear and gloves matched. Every time, mostly. I only had one bridesmaid ever, and we both knew we were no maids long before. I hope all pans out.

I did the tea lenght thing too...but each person picked a differnt dress and it looked really nice in the pics. All were in the same end of the rainbow...yellow peach and pink.

I don't have fond memories of the organza bridesmaid dress I wore years back, which couldn't be altered or re-dyed into anything that didn't resemble a made-over bridesmaid dress. But the faux-Elizabethan dress (lace-up bodice with flounced skirt) from another wedding was very re-usable. For my own wedding, I wore teal-blue velvet with cream lace, and sent snippets to my attendant and told her to come in whatever suited her that would go with that and with yellow flowers. If you had been she, I'm sure the choice of dress would have been more flattering and less ... tacky ... because you have far better taste.
