(In the firecracker context, a ladyfinger is one of those brightly-coloured or pattern-printed cardboard cylinders about an inch and a half long and a quarter inch in diameter (fuzzy memory -- it's been a while since I've looked at one up close), about the smallest firecracker big enough to be against the law in places that restrict such things.)

I thought ladyfingers werre the really tiny firecrackers that were a half inch long and like a sixteenth in diameter

Which of course, Maryland does. The frst principle o law to remember, though is that laws are meaningless if they are unefnforceable.
