i'm amazed it hasn't started yet here. usually my neighborhood is all about the explosions for at least a week before and after the 4th.

i can't seem to talk anyone into coming over for the 4th, alas. which is sad, because my neighborhood puts on a surprisingly decent amateur show every year. the cats hate it, of course, but it's a lot of fun to watch while drinking on the balcony. and my balcony is pretty much the best seat in the house.
