:-( I don't understand; I'm seeing serifs on all but the titles (though smsller serifs than I recall with yesterday's style). You're seeing my entries sans-serif?
I changed it because twice in the past two days people posted entries that each contained one really long line without spaces, which made my entire friendspage wider than my monitor, thus requiring horizontal scrolling to read any of it. With S1 it was easy to have my own journal in "Classic" (which may be rather ordinary-looking, neither "interesting" nor "stylish", but seems veryclean and easy to read to me, which is more important) and my friendspage in "Magazine" (the most similar to "Classic" in which a single too-wide entry does not affect the width of the other entries on the page, so I only have to scroll for the offending entry, not for everything else on my friendspage). I haven't yet learned how to do that in S2, so after the second recent post like that I just put my entire journal in "Magazine". I'd rather go back to having just the friendspage in "Magazine" and everything else in "Classic" but I haven't spent the time sifting through the S2 documentation to figure out how yet. (I'm guessing I have to swipe a 'layer' from the other style and apply it to the one 'view', right? Need to suss out how one does that, and I've had my attention on a few other things, only sparing a little for the trivial customizations that I made after switching to S2 so I could use tags.)
And FWIW, the interchangeable meter stuff is the reason I have to stop and think to sing "Clementine" to its proper tune instead of to Beethoven, and why when I try to sing "Fuel to Feed the Drive" it always comes out to the melody of "Rolling Down to Old Maui".
Oh, and I just verified that "Fuel to Feed the Drive" is in Common Meter (I just sang it to "The Yellow Rose of Texas") but I'm finding it so difficult to keep "Clementine" out of the Beethoven melody that I'm having trouble getting far enough to see whether it fits -- maybe when I'm more awake.
Yeah, but are you going to try singing "Streets of Laredo" to the tune of the "Saint James Infirmary Blues"? I tried it, and while it required some metrical hopscotch (the one's in 6/8 and the other's in 2/2, as near as I can figure), it basically works.
I don't actually know the tune of "The Yellow Rose of Texas," so it's hard for me to do that, but there are hundreds of other songs for which that'd probably work, like, say, "Amazing Grace."
I just thought, mere picoseconds after pushing the Post Comment button that I likely won't even be at Pennsic this year so we can try this stuff out. *mutter*
Gaahhhh!!
And if you're going to be playing blues, go comment on my entry "The miracles of common metre." ;)

I'd better stop. This is just getting weird.
Bah.
