Having been pointed here by another filker - I'm very sorry to hear this happened to you, I'm sorry to hear that things like this happen at all, to anyone and are apparently thought of as "ok" by those attackers & people like them/they interact with.
I second the "get yourself checked out properly" advice to make sure you've not got unnoticed-as-yet internal injuries.
I'm concerned this has you thinking about going armed, as I don't believe that will solve anything. I'm relieved your attackers at least did not have/use knives or guns. But the problem is the attitude that it's ok to beat up someone considered "weird". It is not. It should never be, even if all society agrees on what is "weird". You should never have had to even THINK about whether it's better to go armed.
