Being sick has gotten more sucky. I'm sitting in the emergency room at Butler Memorial Hospital. Feh. Ironically, my cold has gotten slightly better.
(The hospital has a wireless network, but requires a password, or I'd post this right away.)
Got hit with a migraine earlier. Took drugs, started creeping up the road to the privies, got spotted by someone in a golf cart who thought I looked scary and very strongly suggested I take a ride up to Chirurgeons Point. The chirurgeons didn't like the fact that my right hand felt tingly and weaker than my left and very strongly suggested I go to the hospital to get checked for stroke. *pout* Here I am.
So far they've done a CAT scan and some other x-ray and stuck
a thingie in my arm. The drugs I took earlier are wearing off.
I've become hypersensitive to touch, vibration ... I swear I felt
each loop of the carpet the wheelchair rolled across, and each
slightly uneven spot when it rolled across linoleum, and the right
front wheel was ever so slightly out of round. The touch of
anniemal's hand on my face was greatly magnified ...
but so was each thrust and tug of the needle as the nurse tried
to get it into my vein. (And that took more than one attempt
on each arm and wrist.)

Back in my tent. Nothing on the CAT scan. <pause> Okay smartasses, yes there was apparently a brain in the images. The doctor said there could still be something too small to see on that and said he could admit me and have an MRI done in the morning, but he didn't try to talk me into that and his body language suggested that he wasn't terribly worried, so I left. Symptoms are abating, though I'm still walking a bit wobbly and can't afford to turn my head too quickly. Let's see how I feel in the morning -- or the afternoon, whenever I wake up. (My tent is partially shaded by trees this year, so sleeping past noon is conceivable.)
Hearing descriptions from campmates after I got back, apparently I looked REALLY scary earlier, even worse than I felt, and I felt pretty f'ing impressively awful then.
I still have that cough but it doesn't hurt as much. Here's hoping I feel up to shopping, visiting, musicmaking, and maybe a class or two over the next couple of days. (If you see this on the 17th, that'll tell you I at least made it up the hill to the merchant area at some point.)

Glad you're approximately okay.
Migraines can be pretty brutal. I had a cousin was hospitalized with one for three days - though at that point, I think they start calling 'em TMIs, these days (transient ischemic incidents).
Transient Ischemic anomalies
One can die as a result of a TIA but not of an actual migraine.
Re: Transient Ischemic anomalies
Sorry, what I meant was to indicate I had my doubts about the exact nature of my cousin's event. (Three days unconscious, from a migraine? I know they can be pretty fierce, but still.)
My apologies for the fuzzy-brained blathering.

*sigh* Try HARD to take care of yourself. Getting pneumonia will be nastier than you can imagine.
