well, the albums for many of those songs are 1979 or 1980 (Genesis Misunderstanding is from Duke, Sara from Fleetwood Mac is from 1979's Tusk, Queen's Crazy Little Thing is from 1980's The Game). However, singles at the time had a knack for lasting longer (or being released long after the album) as a way of keeping sales up and even. today's market of hit 'em hard and fast and then move on to the next hit wasn't quite so abusive back then.
