Turns out it's supposed to start tonight and go into Tuesday (the way they were babbling on television, you'd think we'd have woken to a blanket of the stuff this morning). Nothing's falling yet and it's getting on toward normal school-letting-out time. Sending the kids home early today is surprising to me, too.
When I get near the end of the tin of Old Bay currently in my pantry, I'll try calling McCormick's and see what happens. :-)
I note that Old Bay seems to be a popular "If you're coming up from Maryland could you please bring me..." item for the folks in Boston.

True for a lot of places, based on the calls I took when I temp'ed there. (The guy calling from West Germany enthusing over Montreal Steak Seasoning was a bit over the top.)
I asked, and while they never wanted to get into the mail order business, they got so many requests for stuff like this, they set up a mail order division. I mailed a bunch of folks catalogs so they could get the big honking bottles of food dye.

Which is odd, as I'm sure the Star Market in Porter Square used to carry it. Surely it's at least obtainable at Cardullo's...
But I suppose it's most authentic if it's come straight from Baltimore!
*wonders where to get Old Bay in Southern California...*
