From the Quotation of the day mailing list, 2005-08-13:

"Without accepting the fact that everything changes, we cannot find perfect composure. But unfortunately, although it is true, it is difficult for us to accept it. Because we cannot accept the truth of transcience, we suffer." -- D. T. Suzuki

I cannot deny trying to find perfect composure in other's eyes. The worth of it is another matter entirely. I 'm still trying to practice arts I think useless. I'm real and who I am, ultimately. I don't give a shit for that astounding balancing of a wine glass on an hors d'ouvres plate beyond the fact that someone can do it. What an amazing skill. Okay, if it matters to him, I care, sort of. And everything changes.

What is 'Transcience"?

If I hadn't believed wholeheartedly in what this quote states, I wouldn't be alive [in this body] today.

It was the only way to survive the circumstances of the moment for a long, long time.
