This is something I'd meant to post last week. I know that there are people -- both within and outside of 'the scene' -- who picture me one way and am suprised to find out I'm something else, and that there are people who know what I am but find it easier to picture me as something else. This sometimes amuses me and sometimes confuses me, but I don't know whether it's just a very few people, or many, whose impressions of me don't match how I think of myself.
It's not important, but I did grow curious. So ...

sure, on the surface of things, i can see how i might come off as the dominant type, and the short hair and jeans/flannel shirt combo is pretty much equivalent in the bay area to wearing a neon sign reading "DYKE! GOT YER DYKE HERE!"
but anyone who pays enough attention to take note of my body language and hear the kind of things i say should be able to figure out the truth pretty trivially. and perhaps it's best left that way -- why would i want to let someone top me who couldn't read my body language or really listen to what i have to say?
