i, of course, as you know, am most frequently mistaken for a dominant lesbian. i don't mind, but i do think i learn something interesting from those mistaken impressions: how much attention that person has actually paid to me.
sure, on the surface of things, i can see how i might come off as the dominant type, and the short hair and jeans/flannel shirt combo is pretty much equivalent in the bay area to wearing a neon sign reading "DYKE! GOT YER DYKE HERE!"
but anyone who pays enough attention to take note of my body language and hear the kind of things i say should be able to figure out the truth pretty trivially. and perhaps it's best left that way -- why would i want to let someone top me who couldn't read my body language or really listen to what i have to say?
