"Spammers routinely flout the law in multiple jurisdictions, so are unlikely to respect Korean bedtimes." -- John Leyden in The Register, 2004-02-27, in an article about proposed anti-spam laws in Korea that include a ban on unsolicited commercial email between 9PM and 9AM.

As I was falling asleep: What if there were a law that said if a candidate were caught in a lie about his or her opponent in a campaign ad, he or she had to pay for the cost of running the rebuttal ad as many times and in the same places as the lie had run? (Not so much a serious proposal as a "wouldn't it be nice if we could enforce honesty?" pipe-dream.)

As I slept: I dreamt about making music on a ship and in a mansion. silmaril was there.

As I woke up: I faded into consciousness just in time to hear coverage of a Russian woman breaking the previous record for the Baltimore Marathon by eight minutes.

More meme-sheepage. firinel mentioned that stephe wants to know what songs are stuck in our heads (bonus points for linking to the lyrics), so here's mine:

The catch is that I've never heard it sung, only as an instrumental. Do I still get the lyrics-linking bonus? I found a PDF of the melody online (I'm used to playing it a whole-step lower or a fourth higher), and Google pointed to audio files which I'm not linking to because I haven't listened to them yet.

(There's a reason it's stuck in my head today. I'll write about that later.)
