I'm up. The cat is fed and I'm about to be, then as fast a shower as I can manage before a bandmate rings my doorbell at 09:00. My day has started. I'll be in the studio earlier than I'm usually out of bed. Let's see how far I can afford to push my body once we get started -- it's scheduled to be a long day.

Perrine doesn't seem to be eating (as of yesterday). Odd. But if we average that compared to Wednesday and Thursday, the amounts look about right. Kind of like humans on Thanksgiving weekend or something? (Not worried, just curious.)

If cats don't eat for a couple days (three or more, I think), their kidneys fail. If she keeps not eating for the rest of today, I'd call the vet...

What I've gotten from my vet is that it's more a matter of not drinking that rakes the kidneys o'er the coals. Food goes a lot longer, as long as the loves are sufficiently hydrated. I could be wrong, or so could my vet. Fatty liver disease (the only problem I've had even peripheral experience with) can leave cats foodless but not waterless for a long time. Really bad story in terms of vet bills could follow, but cat can survive. I hardly think Perrine is going into that.

She's an alpha bitch kitty, if you haven't met her, and if Nutro Max and Iams canned isn't good enough, she isn't hungry. D'Glenn has mentioned her being put a bit out of sorts over her absences. Perrine's not underweight for her frame anymore, so I don't think it's time to fret. As long as she's drinking enough fresh water.

Sorry to come on strong, but I've spent a lot of time with these problems. As long as the dearlove is drinking enough water, she should be fine.

Thanks for your caring. I, too, love Perrine. And will waste D'Glenn's time to ask her about her water intake. As soon as I think it's possible.

Sorry, didn't mean to over-worry there. Sugar had similar not-eating tendencies a few weeks back, and the vet was insistent that I bring him in after a day or so of it...after I switched his food and that didn't work.
Could be stale food, as well. The vet told me sometimes dry food goes stale before the bag's empty, and cats turn up their noses...

Cats are fluky, sometimes. Give the dearlove what she likes best, and maybe some wet stuff of the entirely amalgamated sort. Or just tuna.
(different voice) "She's obviously attempting to manipulate you into spending great amounts of anxiety on her intake".(voice out)

She may just be in a feline snit. Too much experience with both, and I'm not there to speak. Be nice, but firm, is the best bet. And I'd give her another couple days to get over it. It's not as if she maybe hasn't been eating mice that have been eating her food. One can hope. She is, after all, a cat.

As long as she is not looking "off color" and still drinking water, she can easily go a day or two without food. If she starts getting lethargic, or just not looking or acting right, I would take her to the vet.
She may just have a hairball that is occupying part of her stomach, so she isn't hungry and it'll eventually come up, or she might just have an upset tummy from whatever it was you found pieces of...

I know I notice when our cats aren't eating as much or just acting grumpy, and usually just after I note it, one of them (or both even) coughs up a hairball and things are okay again.

In the long term, you should think about growing some cat-grass for Perrine. (I don't know what your pantry looks like, but wheat berries and rye berries sprout into nice tasty grass.) That way she can leave hairballs on the rug any time whe wants to. :-)

A cat off food for a day or two isn't really an issue, especially if she's drinking. Then again, maybe she's just filling up on crockets. :-) But do watch her.
