I like, will borrow. Not sure on the religious one either but seeing as I've been in Westminster Abbey *and* Stonehenge I think I'm covered :)

The Church of England will happily argue for hours whether Westminster Abbey could be called "a site held holy". :)

Isn't it the traditional central thingy for Christianity in England though? All those people buried in it and stuff...

Yes-- that or Canterbury Cathedral. Westminster Abbey is more of a state-associated thing.

I meant that Reformed/Lutheran Christianity doesn't call things or places "holy" or "sacred" on principle, only people; Catholic Christianity does both. But the Church of England is made up of people from both traditions: this sort of thing causes friction. So a lot of CofE people would protest that the Abbey wasn't a holy site of the CofE.

Ah, gotcha. Sorry, was brought up a Catholic so the difference had eluded me..
