"Someone who wanted to buy shit from you but didn't because you failed to offer it to them means you're a shitty businessman. If that someone got it from your competitor for free, you're a fucking horrible one." -- evilmeow, 2005-03-08

As one maybe customer said "Ya know too much and ya talk too fast." Well, he didn't think very fast and wanted something complicated made simple. He should've talked to my patient employees.

And yah. Wal-mart bit my ass fine. After wasting half an hour of my carefully acquired expertise on fish someone openly announced he could get it cheaper there. He stole my experience and paid naught. He was so clever. He'll get his eventually. I hope.

Why we go out of business. Soon we will be so mean and efficient that no one will know anything anymore.

Maybe he was right. Glad I never put kids into this world. I'd not wish that on anyone now. Some dope once asked me whether I was a Realist or an Idealist. Sorry, I'm a Pragmatist.

As a customer in the age of technology, I get to say what I want, how I want it, when I want it, and how much I'm willing to pay for it. If anyone disagrees they can go to hell, I'll have what I want anyway.

That sort of attitude strikes me as selfish, and more than a bit disturbing.

Fortunately, I'm doing business-to-business transactions amongst small businesspeople, so the pricks who think like that are fewer and further between.

Actually, if someone gets something from you for free that they wanted, and what you offered them is a loss-leader, and it gets them to come back and buy more shit from you, then I'd say you're actually a pretty fucking smart businessperson. The difference is knowing when you're marketing and when you're in a hopeless market, I guess.
