Since
twistedchick is on the injured list, I'll do
my tiny, disorganized part to help spread news. I subscribe to a
convenient email service called
"Megavote" which drops a weekly summary of how my representatives in
the House and Senate voted in the past week (and a little info on what's
coming up in Congress next) into my mailbox. From this afternoon's
mailing (abridged):
Congress has completed its work for the year. The Senate is scheduled to reconvene on January 18, 2006. The House is scheduled to reconvene on January 31, 2006.

Defense Appropriations Act
1) Defense Spending is,in huge part, soldier's paychecks.
2) They might have actually brokered the bill *down*.
Re: Defense Appropriations Act
I may not support the war, but as long as our soldiers are over there, they'd bloody well better get paid and fed and supplied with suitable arms and armour.
